Invest in Transportation

Your gifts are especially important to those of us in Transportation. So many needs compete for your attention and dollars. Often, education is overshadowed by issues which are perceived as more urgent needs. Moreover, Transportation studies are not perceived as urgent in the realm of education. But they are.

Transportation issues are vitally important to our world. Transportation touches everyone - from making our world a safer, healthier and more economically vibrant place to making our days a little easier. For example, WSU's Bioasphalt project hopes to replace petroleum-based asphalt which contributes to climate change and dependence on foreign oil with one made of waste cooking oils. They call it "earth friendly asphalt" and it's great example of an idea that's safer and healthier for the world. In addition, the manufacturing and application of the product would have significant positive financial impacts on the US. On the other side of the state, Kari Watkins' One Bus Away application helps bus riders all over Puget Sound relax as they get through the day.

Please consider a gift to Washington State University or the University of Washington. Supporting education only takes a moment and means a great deal to students who are often overlooked when charitable decisions are made.

Both the University of Washington and Washington State University engineering departments are asking for student support - or a gift to the Chair to use at their discretion. However, if you are considering making your own legacy gift, please call the following Advancement officers and work with them personally to design and fund a gift which matches your personal interests and perspective.
