Commercialization Grants
Transportation agencies are currently challenged to develop and commercialize new processes and products
which add value to their agencies, serve the public and stimulate the economy.
TransNow’s Commercialization Grants Program leverages USDOT funds in a unique way for researchers.
PIs can apply for these small “capstone” grants for their completed (or soon to be completed) TransNow
projects. These grants provide funding and services for website development (mandatory), business and/or
legal expertise, market analysis, trade show marketing, printed materials, or other commercialization needs.
WHAT QUALIFIES?
Any appropriate TransNow funded project from the 2009, 2010, 2011 RFP cycles. The technology or idea must be mature enough to be commercially attractive at this time.
WHO QUALIFIES?
Any PI who has completed a final report (2009, 2010) or semiannual report (for 2011 projects) on deadline and is willing to complete the reporting data required for this project.
WHAT DO YOU RECEIVE?
TransNow facilitates with you and Creative Communications at the University of Washington to design a website based on your technology transfer/commercialization needs (approximately $2,500). Additional funding is made available to the PI for other commercialization services (up to $5,000) as needed and deemed reasonable by the Office of Commercialization (UW) or Washington State University Research Foundation.

- Name of project
- TransNow number
- PI name and title
- Description of project progress and status (past and present)
