CE 322 Introduction to Transportation Engineering

Transportation economics; land use and transportation planning; elements of traffic flow theory and roadway capacity; geometric design of highways; introduction to pavement design.

CE 400 Highway Materials Engineering

Aggregate shape and mechanical properties; types and properties of asphalt binder; mix design and characterization of asphalt mixes; properties of fresh and hardened portland concrete; mix design and characterization of portland concrete; UU and CU tri-axial testing of soils.

CE 473 Pavement Design

Pavement Evaluation and Management; Structural design of asphalt concrete (flexible) pavements; structural design of portland concrete (rigid) pavements; economics related to pavement design; introduction to highway material characterization.

CE 474 Intermediate Transportation Engineering

Fundamentals of geometric design and traffic engineering for urban and rural highways.
