Junsuk An (BSCE) was a TNW intern with WSDOT as a Traffic Flow Operator. He received a BSCE in June 2006.

Ryan Avery (PhD) was a TNW/Valle scholar in Sweden. He is now working in Sweden at the Kungliga Tekniska Hogskolan on a Swedish Government funded transportation project investigating driver behavior in response to traffic information. He has completed his general examination for his PhD and is now a PhD candidate.

Craig Bosman (BSCE) received a TNW/Coral Sales Scholarship. Bosman received a BSCE in June, 2006.

Carrie Byron (MPA, MMA) received a TNW/Women’s Transportation Seminar Puget Sound Chapter Scholarship. She received an MPA from the Evans School and an MMA from the School of Marine Affairs in June 2006.

Brian Chase (BSCE) was a TNW intern with WSDOT as a Traffic Flow Operator. Chase graduated in 2006 and is now a Transportation Engineer 1 with WSDOT.

Patikhom Cheevarunothai (PhD) received a Washington Research Foundation Award.  He was a Research Assistant for Professor Nancy Nihan and Professor Yinhai Wang on their Loop Project.  In Spring Quarter 2005 he was a Teaching Assistant for Professor Yinhai Wang’s CEE 320 class. Cevarunothai also received a Washington Research Foundation Award ($10,000).

Peter Chen (MSCE) was a TNW intern with Parametrix.

Katherine Davis (BSCE) received a TNW/Coral Sales Scholarship and a BSCE in March 2006.

Christopher Dela Pena (BSCE) was a TNW intern with WSDOT as a Traffic Flow Operator.

Hanzhi Ding (MSCE) was a Research Assistant for Professor Nancy Nihan & Professor Anne Goodchild on the Northern Pacific Northwest Freight Mobility Center (NORPAC). Ding received his MSCE in August 2006.

Daniele Dunjic (MSCE) received the Bulley Scholarship and was an intern with WSDOT on the Alaskan Way Viaduct and Seawall Replacement Project.  She also received a TNW/Coral Sales Scholarship.  Dunjic graduated in 2006 and is now a Designer with WSDOT.

Kristina Evanoff (MSCE) was a TNW intern with Sound Transit. She graduated in March 2006.

Erin Fletcher (MSCE) was a TNW intern with HDR Engineering as a Bridge Engineer. She graduated in March 2006.

Eric Forsyth (MSCE) was a TNW intern with Parsons Brinckerhoff as an Engineer II.  He worked on the Tukwila Segment of the Light Rail Sound Transit Program and in Project Control for Viaduct Construction Planning.  After receiving an MSCE in June 2006 he became the Quality Control Manager for the Tukwila Segment’s Central Link Light Rail with Parsons Brinckerhoff.

Kaori Fujisawa (PhD) was a TNW intern with Puget Sound Regional Council.

Michelle Gribler (BSCE) was a TNW intern with WSDOT as a Traffic Flow Operator for Autumn Quarter 2005 and Winter Quarter 2006.  In Spring Quarter 2006 she was a TNW intern with Jacobs for Spring Quarter 2006. Gribler graduated with a BSCE in June 2006. She is now a Transportation Engineer for H.W. Lochner.

Kendra Hartstrom (BSCE) was a TNW intern with WSDOT as a Traffic Flow Operator.

Phil Hurvitz (PhD, Urban Design & Planning) was a Research Assistant for Professor Anne Vernez Moudon’s Managing Pedestrian Safety Project.

Joshua Johnson (MSCE) was a TNW intern with Parametrix as an Engineer I.  He worked on the I-5 Pavement Reconstruction Project and the US 101 Regional Circulation Project.  He has been promoted to an E2 at Parametrix. Johnson received an MSCE in June 2006.

Atli Levy (MSCE) was a Valle Scholar from the University of Iceland.  He studied Transportation Engineering and was a member of Professor Yinhai Wang’s STAR Lab.

Lin Lin (PhD, Urban Design & Planning) was a Research Assistant for Professor Anne Vernez Moudon on her Managing Pedestrian Safety Project.

Michael Lowry (PhD) was a University Transportation Centers (UTC) 2005 Outstanding Student of the Year and an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) America Scholarship recipient.  He also won first place in best poster and in best presentation at Portland State’s ITS TransNow Conference.

Quang Dai Nguyen (BSCE) was a TNW intern with WSDOT as a Traffic Flow Operator. Nguyen graduated in June 2006 with a BSCE. He is now a Transportation Engineer/TSMC Manager with WSDOT.

Robert Nichols (MSCE) was a TNW intern with WSDOT as a Transportation Technician 3 (Records Technician).  He has been employed by WSDOT since 2000.

Adam Parast (BSCE) was a TNW intern with WSDOT as Traffic Flow Operator.

Christie Parker (Master of Public Affairs) was a recipient of a TNW/Women’s Transportation Seminar Scholarship.

Euneka Robinson-McCutchen (BSCE) was a TNW intern with WSDOT as a Traffic Flow Operator. She received her BSCE in June 2006 and is now in the master’s program in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Washington.

Marc Seferian (MSCE) was a Teaching Assistant for Professor Mark Hallenbeck.

Tyler Sprague (MSCE) was a Research Assistant for Professor George Turkiyyah. Sprague graduated in August 2006 with an MSCE.

Nicholas Richard Wilson (BSCE) was a TNW intern with WSDOT as a Traffic Flow Operator.  He received a BSCE in June 2006 and is now employed with WSDOT.

Tony Woody (MSCE) was a TNW intern with PTV America, Inc. as a Project Manager. Woody received a University Transportation Centers’ 2006 Outstanding Student of the Year Award. He received his MSCE in June, 2006.

Guohui Zhang (PhD) was a Research Assistant for Professor Yinhai Wang on his Comprehensive Evaluation of Transit Signal Priority Impacts (TSP) using Field Observed Traffic Data Project.  He was also a Research Assistant for Professor Yinhai Wang and Professor Nancy Nihan on their Developing a Portable Long-Vehicle Counter Using Video Image Processing Project.

Jianyang Zheng (PhD) was a Research Assistant for Professor Yinhai Wang on his Comprehensive Evaluation of Transit Signal Priority Impacts (TSP) Using Field Observed Traffic Project.

 

Washington State University

Grant Monson (M.A. Ag. Econ) was a Research Assistant for Professor Eric Jessup’s and Professor Ken Casavant’s Feasibility Study of Evaluating Transportation Security Systems and Associated Multi-Modal Efficiency Impacts.  He is now a Financial Advisor with Pacific Capital Resource Group.

Lisa Schramm (BSCE) received a Coral Sales Scholarship.

Steven Schmitz (BSCE) received a Coral Sales Scholarship.

Senthilmurugan Thyagarajan (MSCE) received a scholarship from the National Asphalt Pavement Association Research and Education Foundation.

 

Portland State University

Steve Boice (MSCE) received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award for 2005-2006 from the Institute of Transportation Engineers, District 6.

River Hwang (BSCE) received the Sharon D. Banks WTS International Scholarship.

Colleen Jenkins (BSCE) received a David Evans & Associates Scholarship.

Sirisha Kothuri (PhD) received the Outstanding Graduate Research Assistant for 2005-2006 from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Adam Larsen (BSCE) received a Coral Sales Scholarship.

Roger Lindgren (PhD) received the first PhD from Portland State University’s Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Sciences and is now an Associate Professor at the Oregon Institute of Technology.

Loren Meagher (BSCE) received a David Evans & Associates Scholarship.

Dominique Stephanson (BSCE) received a Coral Sales Scholarship.

 

Oregon State University  

Tegan Houghton (BSCE) received her degree in Spring 2006. She received an Opportunity Plus scholarship from OSU’s College of Engineering.

Myra Long (MSIME) was a Research Assistant for Professor David Kim and Professor David Porter. Long received her MSCE and is employed with Hewlett-Packard in Corvallis, Oregon.

Mychal Loomis (BSCE) received his degree and now works for Kimly Horn and Associates. 

Joshan Rohani (MSCE) was president of the ITE student chapter.

Dan Staley (MSIME) was a Research Assistant for Professor David Kim and Professor David Porter.

 

University of Idaho

Yuri Meresczak (MSCE) was National Institute for Advanced Transportation Technology’s (NIATT) student of the year for 2005.  He is now employed with Kittelson and Associates.
