Supplemental Academic Support
Transportation Northwest is accepting requests for scholarship, fellowship or other academic programs and ideas which support students for its 24th year of center funding: Friday April 30, 2011 - 4:30 pm. Thoughout the year, TransNow receives requests to support students in very unique ways. These requests fall outside of regular research projects but, nonetheless, can give students opportunties for learning outside the classroom, assist with tuition, provide special materials, etc. It is our intent to support as many of these opportunities for students as possible. Our sponsor, RITA, has a goal to educate students with "multi disciplinary program course work" and experiential learning that reinforces the transportation theme of each center. We support this goal in two ways:
Advanced Institute
Supplements students' transportation education by providing financial support with Internships, Fellowships, Teaching Assistantships and Research Assistantships. Requires a matching committment from a government or private industry partner.

Other Supplemental Academic Support
Bringing a speaker to class, sending a student to a conference, purchasing equipment or materials to help engage students . . . These are all examples of worthy supplemental support requests. Priority will be given to requests with matching funds, however supporting transportation students in the best way possible is also a priority. Therefore, requests without match will also be considered. Additionally, proposals will be accepted from non-faculty.
Depending on funding, TransNow may accept additional requests during the academic year prior to meetings of the Board of Directors. Deadlines will be announced via email to faculty and posted here.
