Transportation Students Fall Welcome at UW
All transportation students joined faculty and staff for coffee and pastries in More 212 from 10-11am on Friday, October 23. TransNow sponsors events every quarter for new and returning students in order to help build community on campus. (10/12/2009)

TRB Webinar Hosted in the TCC
TransNow hosted a TRB Webinar in the TCC, which several students as well as faculty attended. They were able to share ideas with each other regarding the topic: "How to Write an Effective Research Statement." Presenters included Chris Hedges (TRB), Randy Wade (HNTB Corporation), William “Randy” Cox (American Segmental Bridge Institute), Gail D’Avino (Georgia Department of Transportation), as moderated by Pat Casey (CTC & Associates). Traffic Hero: UW Student Creates New CoE Open House Demo
Yegor Malinovskiy (PhD) is developing Traffic Hero, a new College of Engineering (CoE) Open House demo, to fulfill his volunteering requirement as an Advanced Institute student.
Traffic Hero is modeled after Guitar Hero and tracks the flow of traffic just as Guitar Hero tracks guitar chords in songs. The demo will be featured at the 2010 CoE Open House. For more information on the demo, read Yegor's synopsis. (6/12/2009)
TransNow Spring Send-Off

TransNow said goodbye to transportation students at a pizza and pool party on Friday, June 5.
We wish everyone a very safe and happy summer and look forward to seeing returning students in the fall. Congratulations to all graduates and best wishes for a successful future.
TransNow Advisory Committee Meeting
TransNow's Advisory Committee met at the UW campus on Thursday June 11. The committee discussed data sharing among various local transportation entities, partnernships in the community, and transportation education. (6/3/2009)
Prof. Joe Mahoney to Guest Speak at Henry Roy Berg Endowed Lecture
On Monday, May 11 at 4:30pm, Professor Joe Mahoney examined the evolution of transportation infrastructure with emphasis on the Puget Sound Region.
Professor Mahoney's research focuses on transportation and construction. His primary areas of expertise are highway and airfield pavements, pavement materials, pavement management systems, and industry-related environmental regulations and compliance. (4/29/2009)
