TransNow RFP Process

Every year, Transportation Northwest funds a variety of transportation related research projects within the three major theme focus areas:

1) Traffic Operations with an emphasis on ITS
2) Freight Operations and Logistics with an emphasis on freight mobility
3) Infrastructure Construction with an emphasis on smart infrastructure

Please make note of the following eligibility rules and restrictions in order for your proposals to be considered:

  • Potential PIs must not be delinquent on any required TransNow reporting;
  • Potential PIs must be UW or WSU Research or Tenured Track Faculty who are Assistant, Associate, or Full Professors; and
  • Each proposal must have a research focus that falls within one of the (3) TransNow theme areas of Traffic Operations, Freight Operations and Logistics, and Infrastructure Construction. Proposals with a focus in one of the theme emphasis areas (ITS, freight mobility, or smart infrastructure) will be given top priority.

Please click on the links in the column to the left for more information regarding the process for submitting research proposals for new and continuing research, Advanced Institute funding, and conducting proposal reviews.
