Proposals for New Research Projects
TN Year 21: July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009

Welcome to the TransNow research proposal process. The process consists of two parts with different submittal dates:

PART A must be submitted no later than 10:00 a.m. (PST) Thursday, January 31, 2008. This part of the proposal requires the following information:

  • Title and Abstract

PART B must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. (PST) Monday, March 3, 2008. This part of the proposal consists of 4 sections and requires the following information:

  • Section 1 -- PI Information
  • Section 2 -- External Project Contact Information
  • Section 3 -- Proposal Text, Proposal Budget and Project Details
  • Section 4 -- Review and Submit

Please Note: You must completely answer all required questions. Late proposals will not be considered for research funding for this cycle. Please make note of the following eligibility rules and restrictions in order for your proposals to be considered:

  • Potential PIs must not be delinquent on any required TransNow reporting;
  • Potential PIs must be UW or WSU Research or Tenured Track Faculty who are Assistant, Associate, or Full Professors; and
  • Each proposal must have a research focus that falls within one of the (3) TransNow theme areas of Traffic Operations, Freight Operations and Logistics, and Infrastructure Construction. Proposals with a focus in one of the theme emphasis areas (ITS, freight mobility, or smart infrastructure) will be given top priority.

Notice of project acceptance or rejection for those PI's who submit their completed proposal by the submittal deadline will occur in April of 2008.
